Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAD Manager to support the Georgia Port Authority, one of the largest fastest growing ports, and currently investing $1.9 billion in infrastructure projects. This is a technical and leadership role working with CAD technicians, engineers, and project managers on-site investigation, planning, analysis, technical production, and construction support of many different types of projects including complex marine terminals, RORO, waterfront structures, container yards, intermodal rail, site, utilities, roadways, and other port/marine related projects. As a CAD Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our CAD operations, large package production management, and ensuring the efficient use of CAD software and resources. Your role will involve managing a team of CAD technicians, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth project delivery. If you have strong leadership skills, extensive CAD experience, and a passion for driving innovation, we encourage you to apply. The position will reside at the AECOM Savannah office with a 3/2 hybrid office schedule .
Responsibilities:
Lead an established team of CAD technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure the team's professional growth and productivity.
Assign CAD tasks to team members and yourself, prioritize workload, and track project progress to ensure timely delivery
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork
Train and enforce client CAD standards and use best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in design processes, including regular quality control checks to ensure accuracy and adherence
Works under limited supervision, and is able to take general direction and simple sketches from engineers to then develop design criteria and progress through all stages of design
Performs both routine and non-routine, complex design assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations
Civil/Site - Site development/redevelopment, access roads, drainage channels, slope stabilization, minor buildings, car and tractor-trailer parking lots, retaining walls, land development, and surface drainage
Charting complex tractor-trailer and vehicle movements using AutoTrun or similar software
Ability to process a variety of data sources to build existing base surfaces from LiDAR, survey points, break lines, and contours. Requires a detailed understanding of coordinate systems and the ability to transform data from one system to another
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, reviews, and project close-out
Troubleshoot CAD software issues and provide technical support to team members
Stay up to date with the latest CAD software, tools, and industry trends, and make recommendations for software upgrades or improvements
Develop and maintain CAD libraries and templates for standardizing and streamlining drawing production
Responsible for continuous review of the CAD Process workflow and providing improvements and enhancements
Qualifications
Minimum:
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting or a related field
6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience in AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Preferred:
10+ years of civil engineering industry experience
Autodesk Certified Professional
Working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud
Extensive experience with Autodesk Civil 3D through the release of 2022
Experience leading CAD technicians
Experience with meeting project deadlines

The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $81,000.00 to $120,000.00.
