Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly talented Construction Engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the construction engineering functions, quality assurance and inspections on a large number of small construction projects as part of a program to ensure adherence to all engineering construction plans and specifications, contractors selection and coordination of their work, and turnover of the facilities to the client. This is a client facing role with travel up to 50%. This position will ideally be based in Houston, Texas, however, consideration will be given for other locations where there is access to a major airport, such as but not limited to Austin, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, Baltimore, MD, Orlando, FL, Newark, NJ, Pittsburg, PA, Columbus, OH, Seattle, WA or Raleigh, NC
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, however, are not limited to, the following:
Perform ABA Accessibility investigations throughout the United States
Develop and prepare elementary 2D AutoCAD plans and elevations
Prepare independent cost estimates
Develop accessibility survey reports
Develop work scopes
Provide construction management support such as bid solicitation and reviewing submittals, RFIs, and change orders
Additional comments: It is essential that the applicant be willing to travel to a variety of locations throughout the United States, that the applicant has a safe driving record and that the applicant to adhere to and maintain a responsible travel schedule when performing accessibility site investigations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related discipline; or equivalent combination of experience and education
2+ years of related experience in the construction, engineering, or architecture industry
Ability to travel up to 50% to client site locations across the US.
Safe and acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as be able to work closely with and collaborate with a small team
Thorough knowledge of construction and/or engineering principles, practices, and procedures, applicable laws, and relevant government regulations
4+ years of related experience
Previous experience supporting accessibility construction projects.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $72,000.
