HPL has provided its services to entities in the sustainability ecosystem, such as development banks, financial institutions, investors, governments, corporates, NGOs, and academic institutions. Our projects are mainly concentrated in Latin America and the Caribbean and we are expanding our reach to other Emerging Markets.

Our advisory services include: sustainable finance strategies, green/social/sustainable structuring, sustainable finance market development, ESG integration, financial and ESG due diligences.

Role description:

The associate will play a very important role within the team, working closely with senior team members and analysts to facilitate business development and advisory activities for the group. Responsibilities include, amongst others:

● Support commitments related to sustainable finance consulting by conducting research, synthesizing information, and preparing deliverables for clients.

● Supporting team leaders and analysts in the execution of projects with clients, with a focus on the Brazilian market..

● Support business development activities such as prospecting, industry and market research, pitch preparation, and other preliminary work in order to achieve business with existing clients, and new agreements with potential clients.

● Analyze and prepare reports on market conditions and trends for green, social and sustainability bonds and other sustainable finance market trends.

Qualifications:

●We seek a candidate with a unique blend of interpersonal and analytical skills, who can leverage both qualitative and quantitative resources to understand complex financial situations and present solutions. Specific qualifications include:

● Bachelor's Degree required (Industrial Engineering, Economics, Finance, Law, International Relations, Sustainability, and others), preference for candidate who has completed (or is in the process of completing) a Master’s Degree or MBA in a related area.

● 1 - 2 years of experience working in finance or sustainable finance and interested in further developing experience in sustainability applied to the world of finance.

● Coachable professional with good “business sense” and energetic/dynamic and motivated by the prospect of building a company.

● Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

● Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

● Strong analytical and quantitative skills

● Ability to work both independently and as a team player. The job is mostly remotely with a distributed team in different geographical locations.

● Fluency in English and Portuguese are required. Spanish or French is an advantage.
